A practical route for detailed artwork

DTF, or direct-to-film, transfers carry a printed design that is applied to a suitable garment with a heat press. In a live activation, guests can choose from approved artwork and watch the application process. The transfer production plan is arranged before the event; an on-site DTF activation does not automatically mean printing unlimited new artwork from scratch at the venue.

This method can be useful for full-color illustrations, detailed brand graphics and a selection of designs. The final garment, placement and transfer size still need review together so the finished piece feels intentional.

Make the menu easy to navigate

A curated design selection and a clear apparel assortment help guests decide before reaching the operator. Label the designs, show placement examples and decide how sizes will be selected. If personalization is part of the brief, define the permitted text or choices and the approval step.

Avoid treating every possible combination as a separate promise. More garment colors, print locations and custom text choices create additional decisions and production steps. We can help scope an experience around the event schedule and the audience you expect.

Plan for heat presses and handoff

The venue needs to understand the equipment, electrical requirements and production footprint. Include the station in the floor plan with room for inventory and a separate collection point. A heat press is production equipment, so guests should have a good view without entering the operator’s working area.

Share any load-in restrictions, exhibitor requirements and outdoor conditions early. A controlled workflow helps the crew focus on consistent application while your team welcomes guests and explains the offer.

See the method in real settings

Our published work includes live DTF printing at City Club Los Angeles and the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. Those examples show how an apparel experience can sit within hospitality and brand events. Use them as creative references; the right layout and production scope depend on your own venue.

Send your event date, location, operating hours, expected guest count and artwork direction. If you already own a press and only need transfers, use our wholesale DTF ordering page instead of requesting a staffed activation.

Good questions.

Do you print new files at the event?

The production arrangement is defined in advance. Tell us if on-demand artwork creation is essential rather than assuming it is included.

Can DTF handle full-color artwork?

Yes, DTF is a useful option for detailed color designs. File quality, garment compatibility and the final size still matter.

Where can I see an example?
