Prepare apparel transfer artwork with fewer surprises. This guide covers sizing, files, layout and the distinction between a sheet and finished shirts.
What a gang sheet does
A DTF gang sheet groups multiple transfer designs into one sheet layout. It is useful when your shop needs a mix of logos, sizes or graphics that will be cut apart and applied to apparel. The sheet is a production file, so the dimensions of each design must match the intended finished print.
If you need completed decorated garments, use our custom merch service. Wholesale DTF is for customers applying transfers with their own suitable heat press. UV DTF is a different product for compatible hard goods, not an interchangeable apparel transfer.
Prepare artwork at the final size
Use a transparent PNG at 150 DPI or higher, sized for the intended application. A larger resolution number does not repair a blurry source image. Check edges, small lettering and any unintended background before uploading. Do not mirror the artwork for a standard Merch Troop DTF order.
Include all elements that should print and remove those that should remain transparent. View the design against both light and dark backgrounds to catch stray pixels or white boxes. Confirm measurements using the ordering tool rather than relying on how large the image appears on your monitor.
Leave room for practical cutting
Arrange designs so they can be separated without cutting into neighboring artwork. Grouping similar sizes can make the sheet easier to process at the press, but label or organize your own order plan so the right transfer reaches the right garment. Use the current builder for available layout and order options.
Merch Troop’s published DTF rate is 3.5 cents per square inch, with optional cutting at 25 cents per transfer. Check the current order total before checkout. The published shipping window is 48–72 hours; ask about a fixed deadline before assuming a shipment will arrive by a particular event date.
Check the application before the full run
Our published apparel DTF guidance is 300–320°F for 7–10 seconds with medium-firm pressure and a hot peel, with an optional five-second second press. Follow the instructions supplied with your order and consider the garment’s heat tolerance. Press performance and fabric differences make a test application worthwhile.
Inspect adhesion, placement and appearance before repeating the process across a full order. Keep a record of the garment and successful press settings for your own production workflow. If something looks wrong, stop and ask before using the remaining transfers.

Should I mirror the file?
No. Submit the artwork in its normal reading orientation for a standard Merch Troop DTF order.
Can I use a JPG with a white background?
A transparent PNG is the recommended file. An unwanted background in the artwork can become part of the printed transfer.
Is UV DTF the same product?
No. Apparel DTF is heat applied to suitable garments; UV DTF is intended for compatible hard surfaces and uses a different application process.
